My Gymnast wanna be...

Jace is a pretty sporty kid... He kicks hard ... can balance himself well. My daughter even taught him to tumble on bed when he was just 2.
Now he has another favorite... the head stand he learned from her ate ( again). Ate got this from her PE class.... teacher len taught them to be confident with it while an adult holds them and maybe soon they'll do it alone with the same confidence at heart...

Pix taken in the country style sunken bedroom in Binangonan.

edit: (Nasermunan ako... I was reprimanded not writing who took the pix... hehehehe...)

Picture taken by Kyle!

After their swimming lessons... here they are now!

They are more confident in water.. doing different exibitions... All I can do now is be alert and strain my eyes for being too wide 6 hrs straight ( hahahahaha!)

* sasha swimming in 5 feet

* Kyle twirling like a torpedo ( he said ) ... tried it .. and just bruised top of my foot when it got twisted! ( hahahaha am i too old to jam with my kids? Gosh! )

* He enjoys the freedom of swimming alone...

* Need i say more?... its just plain joyous to see them enjoy themselves

* finally kyle is eager to go under water... His Phobia is gone !

All pictures are captured with Canon A570is wrapped in Dicapac w550 waterproof casing that I also sell....

Funny !

I was in the kitchen having a 10:00pm royalty treat from mcdonalds ( nuggets! ) when my daughter came rushing from the stairs.... almost lost of breath since she is suffering from asthma since she woke up this morning....

My eyes were wide as looked at her thinking what kind of emergency she's going to tell m

Sasha: " Mama, mama! what did you do to justin ? "
Mama: " justin who? Justin your cuz? "
Sasha: " ahhh ikaw ka! ( pointing her fingers at me with a weird facial expression on her face. )
Mama: " what nga? "
Sasha: " what did you do to justin timberlake huh? Saw him on TV, looking for you.. knees bended mama... did you fight?"

Im beginning to get irritated... I have no clue what she's talking about... so i just told her I'll just finish my food and be up in the bedroom in a while .

When I came in...she gave me a silent treatment ( duh! ).. didnt mind her.. just proceeded with my ebay shopping time ( heheheh ) .

A few moments past.... she jumped out of her chair.. and shouted ayan oh!
I looked at the Tv she's pointing and there I saw Justin timberlake shouting my name : stella!!!!!!
He ws indeed on his knees... elk! I hate the way he pronounced my name. grrrr...

hay... yun lang pala yun.. I talked to sasha about it and told her that I dunno Justin . Its just a commercial ... I dont even know why they chose Stella ( one of her questions ) . Didnt really see the whole commercial so I cannot really explain to her the commercial's sense.

Whoa! He can really move...

When my kids watch Lazy Town I always wonder if Sportacus can really do those moves in real life.. Or its just a special effects or there's a stunt man doing it for him...

But guess what he does do all those moves.. galing...
look at this link and see him do his moves in the Paul O'Grady show... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m07SgC1q8a8&mode=related&search=

As for my hubby he wonders of Robby Rotten's chin is just prosthetic... nope it isn't. Its also real! hahahaha...

Oh by the way did you know that Stephanie is born in the 1991? yup.. she's a full blown lady now.. with brunette hair.. not pink! hehehehe

My not so outrageous goals:

1. Organize our home... too many stuff too little space nowadays.
2. Be fit.. enroll in a dance class, go to a gym or join an aerobics class
3. Be more patient... esp I have 3 kids to tutor this school year.
4. Save for my dlsr Canon 400d
5. Finally have the guts to have braces. Kyle will have his this month.
6. Cook more varied foods for my family
7. Save for another Family Vacation next year...
8. De-clutter our home... then go to number 1. =)
9. Be devoted to reading my book : Power of the praying wife
10. Be focused.

..
whats yours?

Comedian Jace

My 3 year old son removed the goggly eyes from his book and made it into a mask.

He's such a funny kid.

Im glad he did a repeat "performance " of his antics just so I could take a picture of it.

Last Mothers day my kids gave me this sand art...
2 weeks before I taught them how to make sand art... and look at their work of art now. They managed to design a heart in the middle of the rainbow. Galing!

why kaya green yung heart?

wala lang daw... yun kasi yung natirang color na di pa nila nagagamit. wala naman daw silang red.

whew! kala ko may ibig sabihin na.. hehehe

Love it! cute diba?
Crafted with love by : Kyle, (9 years old ), Sasha ( 6) and Jace ( saling pusa taga pour daw ng sand 3)
Got bored waiting for my kids while they ride cars and trains and giraffes in the basement of megamall. So I looked for better things to do .. I took out my new canon a570is ( gift from my online friends ) and took some shots of the elevator.
I made it a little dark using photoshop. ( mood ko lang dark for this pix ) =)

One of my fave pix this summer

... love this pix. looking at it makes me realize how I miss my sister. Though when we were young we would fight just about anything. Ganoon ata talaga magkapatid hehehe... kaya kung parang aso't pusa mga anak nyo dont worry magmamahalan din yan. =)

Love you sis!

Jack O'lane's juicer

I finally tried this juicer last night when I was looking for something to eat around 1am.
I placed 3 green apples and 1 orange... hoping it'll taste good.
Looking at the juice at 1st .. it creeps me out! Its foamy on top, green in color with little browns. elk!
But once tasted it.. I got addicted to it. Bought 3 trays of apples and oranges from Hi-top today.. be drinking more fresh juices tonight!

why am i doing this? Not for health reasons... just love the taste thats all. It's health benefits is just a plus. =)

Cute Cockroach!

Jace went to the comfort room and saw a tiny cockroach. I laughed out loud when he screamed , went out and said : " Cock-cutes! Mama... yuck yuck!

Tagged!!!

Si Kaye ang kulit..
so... what am I suppose to do? do list 5 Crazy things about me? Oki doki... here it goes

warning: 5 Crazy things about me!

1. I can eat frozen hotdogs while watching my fave show. Blame it to my dear brother who's so lazy cooking hotdogs for me during my afternoon merienda. Since he is the eldest he was tasked to take care of me while mom is at the office.

2. I can bend over my left thumb ( going out if you are looking at your thumb / palm out) and touch my wrist. Only my mom and I can do it in our family.

3. I have the most graceful fingers . I wave it gracefully like a swimming fish. Practiced it under water . Talk about boredom . My kids are still amazed how I do it. They are also trying it from time to time. I told them to practice by immersing their hand in a tub of water.. observe how the fingers gracefully move.

4. My name is supposed to be Ma. Stella.. up until grade 3. My teacher in grade 4 keeps on writing my name as Mari-stella and my mom would get pissed. One day, she went to the principals office only to realize that my birth certificate did say Mari-Stella and not Ma. Stella ( its a typo ). I told mom I like Mari-stella better so we decided not to change it anymore.
Another weird thing... on my baptismal certificate my name is Ma.Stella Regina. So when I was young, I always remind myself before sleeping that if ever I die I should ask San Pedro if the name Ma. Stella Regina is on the list and not Mari-stella.

5. Ate a backpack full of chocolates while I was pregnant with Sasha. Ate a big jar of stick -O and finished it in 2 days while breastfeeding Kyle.

xs: walking outside while winter ( in Korea ) wearing just sando and slippers. Koreans would warn me, but I dont really mind them... I was 8 years old then.

xss: Learned to actually sleep the whole day. Just wake up to eat lunch and dinner ... then after 30 mins be sleeping again. Longest I've done this is about 3 months ..

My Prima crocs frustration

I am not a crocs fan. I find their shoes weird looking / bulky / ugly.
But the other day a relative from the US sent me Prima Crocs in Lavander color. Lavander is my fave color so I didnt snob it and tried it on. It was soft, comfy sort of.. if not for the wrong size. My big toe is poking the end of the shoe. I looked at the mirror and there.... never imagined it'll look good on me and I will fall in love with this crocs! It matched my pink tube top dress and my candy colored necklace pretty well.

Cant get my mind off this crocs. I need to find the right size. Maybe a 6. I need to go to a store and fit it!
Today, I went to trinoma mall... ( thanks to Marisol ). Yes! they have lavander cutie there too. I excitedly fit size 6.... but wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It was not the right size. It was too big. It'll be left if I walk promise. So the crew said I try 5.. but just like the one in my place it was too tight! They didnt stop there , they took all their size 5's hoping there's a little wider shoe ( a molding fluke)... to no avail..
Since there's not much people around, I feel like a pricess there. Hehehehe
They let me sit in one of their boxed type chairs. Offered me to fit different styles. Nahhh still dont want the bulky looking shoes they have.. just prima I said. So I ended up buying kids athens for my youngest instead ... He loved it... and now my daughter wants one too. =)

Meeh? I'll just wait for my cutie indies. same comfort and cute style... Made in Brazil. Much more expensive though... (P3.000) it'll arrive on June 9. I just hope the shoe fits!

Tsk tsk tsk.. Stella's a certified shopaholic these days.

Friday, May 18, 2007

.... hay! Really lost my childhood energy once I stepped into my 30's. I dont enjoy walking through the whole length of Megamall anymore. Unlike before I would spend my saturdays there from 10am till 6pm. Mind you I just stop to eat lunch and thats it.

I did some shopping today. Bought kids shoes for school. Not your typical black shoes though. My prep and nursery schoolers are allowed to use any shoe design and color.
Bought water bottle and lock and lock containers.

It still shock me to see that children's clothes are priced the same as adults. Is it that hard to sew? Oh well... come to think of it... doll clothes like barbie is quite expensive too. Good thing my friend from New york ( Sasha's Ninong ) often sends her Barbie clothes and dolls.

Hmmm, been asking some fellows from Usapang babae where's the best place to look for crocs. I dunno why, but I woke up this morning wanting to buy my Dad who has diabetes a pair of crocs. I just wish he uses it though. I hope he'll like the bulky look.

This june 9 watch out for my Melissa's gold indie.... Its ultra comfortable, has the same material as Ipanema shoes. Im sure you'll agree that its one of the cutest sandals you'll ever see. Its a major cutie. I am eyeing the pink one with silver straps but I can only pair that with a few clothing pieces. So in the end I settled for gold. This way its more versatile.

Omigosh!

This issue happened today...
my son: 3 years old
J- 7 years old
B and M - 8 years old
R- 10 years old

My youngest son and 4 elder cousins are in the main TV room watching Lazy Town. When suddenly "J" closed the television. Of course everyone would react especially B and M.
" Hey! we are watching why did you close the television?"
J: I am going to play the computer ...
My son's yaya : oo nga. si jace din nagwa watch oh.
B and M : yah! you dont have to close the TV when you need to play the computer.

When suddenly "J" slapped herself repeatedly.

Her ate came to her rescue ( "R") .. Kasi naman bakit nyo ba siya inaaway eh.
Yaya: di namin siya inaaway.. sinasabihan lang.

I was not there when it happened. My yaya told me the story coz she was shocked to see "J" slap herself.

I contemplated long and hard. Do I need to tell my sister in law? What if she misinterprets and gets mad at me?
I feel I have this responsibility to tell her as an aunt. So 8pm came and I did texted her.
I was shocked when she said :
"Thanks for the info. Will process this later . Masama talaga ugali nung twins eh at makulit lang talaga ang mga anak ko.

Oh I sense that she's being defensive about her kids already. I dunno I just feel si "J " naman talaga ang mali.

8:30pm she texted me again:
" I talked to her na Baka defensive yaya mo kasi siya din pala nag comment sa mali ni "j" by saying that jace din nanonood. But I told them not to allow "B" and "M" to treat them that way. For this week banned sila to play with the twins. "

I texted: " yah yaya told me that Jace is also watching TV ... but what worries me is that, bakit kailangan saktan ni " J" yung sarili nya pag napagsasabihan. "

alam nyo ba ang sagot?

:"nainis daw kasi siya kasi she felt that sobrang mali yung ginawa nya. Parang against daw lahat . Di sila sanay masigawan. "

hay.. tama ba tong nababasa ko? Bakit parang ok lang yung action nung bata sa kanya? Paano naging defensive ang yaya ko? The reason why yaya told me kasi she felt worried seeing such an act.
Sana maayos pa .. ayoko naman magkaroon ng suicidal na pamangkin pagtagal? !
Ayoko din makakita mga anak ko ng ganyang actions....
hay.. isa sa mga downs ng living in a compound.

My day realization...

Its good to be sensitive ... to be a softee I know but it hurts.
I woke up with a great disposition. Not wanting a fairytale situation of hubby waking up first and kissing me and remembering it's mother's day today. Or my kids going on my bed and surprise me with kisses and hugs before I even wake up. I am pass that idealistic hopes for almost everything and anything.

That's what I thought!

I was so caught up that since it's Mother's day today... it is like a holiday = for everyone that is. But seeing this man ( a carpenter ) in front of my sister in laws' door I wondered. Why is there a carpenter here at a sunday... a mother's day at that?
I asked my sister... and she said that man came in early today and asked if he can do some fixing jobs in her house since he needed to earn money for the coming enrollment of his kids.

I bled... I was hurt to realize that not all people is as lucky as me- as our family. That not everyone can take a rest for a day and just enjoy this day .. be with their wives, mothers, sisters or even friends.
How I wish everyone is living a comfortable life... I wish them food abundance in their table. I wish for everyone's peace of mind, for happiness etc.

Here in our village, roads and plumbings are being fixed by workers from Maynilad. I pity ( i dunno if this is the right word to use ) those men under the scorching heat.
When the workers in our area see some people drove in our garage they often ask for water . If I am there I hurry up the kitchen and give them clean , cold agua vida water... but others just point them to the faucet outside and let them help themselves.
There are alot of things I wanted to do for them ... I even plan to make them sandwiches sometime though I know some members of the family here in the compound will wonder why I even bother.

Why do I bother? I bother because they are human too. They deserve to feel important and they deserve a pat in their backs for a decent job they are doing so they have something to give to their family at the end of the day.

These situations / issues have been hunting be since I was in grade school. The very reason why I wanted to be a social worker... a volunteer in thypoons, floods etc. But that dream remains a dream... I was not permitted to be one when I was highschool. Not even during my college days. I once announced my dream of becoming a social worker after college ( I was in 2nd yr I think )... I remember the situation so well... I was sitting in the dining table smilingly said that but my dad looked at me and I felt his stare pierced my muscles. He raised his voice at me and said: " Tanga ka anak! Wala kang kikitain doon. Anong mangyayari sayo!"
I was so hurt that night but now I do understand where my dad is coming from. He is a father who is worried about his kid. Of course every parent wants his kids to be stable even before they leave this earth.

But I still wish he had given me a chance to be a part time social worker or a volunteer in my spare time. Because I know I'll still dream of working in the corporate world even if I do try this ... I wanted to earn - earn alot.. build my own company and still earn alot. I wanted a lot of money....

.... so in return I can help others who needs help.
.... its not easy I know. Its easer said than done.
.... there will be hurdles. Corrupt officials to face.

... sigh! Sad realization that care is not enough to help other people in the real world. I hate to say it but "Money do makes the world go 'round".... sheeshh cant believe I am even saying this phrase.

Kaya bukas....... Kailangan ko bumoto. Together with that vote is a hope that it will help us all have a better life today and tomorrow!

And today... I'll pray that God will give me wisdom to choose the right candidates with sincere agenda to help the country and their fellow men. Oh God! be there for me... be there.

Zen Zest Linen Spray

After dinner, I was excited to try out my new purchase: Zen zest Linen spray...
I am addicted to great smells so I decided to buy this so when my bounce softener scent looses its fragrance on my bedsheet and pillowcases this spray will continue to make it smelling good.

Ahhhhhh! Smells fresh! Fresh as a newly ironed bedsheets. Smells clean!

Love it... even my kids enjoyed the scent. Errr hubby on the otherhand had a sense overload... hahahaha according to him its because he has a heightened sense of smell blah blah blah. Men!

Erase such negative thoughts.. lets go back to the clean, sweet smelling bedsheets and pillows... ahhhhhhhhhhh! Makes me wanna sleep early tonight... as early as 8pm? ( hehehe)

What to do on Mother's day.... some thoughts etc etc.

I 'll be waking up early tomorrow for sure. Be cooking a Tandoori Chicken for the family ( este clan ). I hope they like it. Its my contribution for our mega lunch tomorrow. I'll be baking some of my best loved brownies. Its a great way to end a perfect meal. =)
Sigh.. hubby is still sick . So that means we cannot go to bulacan tomorrow with my mom. I'm sure she'll be a bit disappointed but I know she'll understand.

Need a bigger sala... hahaha... just look at mine these days. So may photo designing to do and all my papers are messed up here and there ( by me and my kids LOL! ) Still so busy wth this thing.... No wonder I need to stop lasketti boutique for awhile. My site will be up by July I hope... designing it is giving me a nuclear headache I tell you.... and not to mention that I always loose momentum when my youngest starts to call his mama.
Ohhh do I really want to open that store again? I dunno I'm loving my tutoring stint. And ey! I have one more client in the list. one of my sons' classmate. So thats and extra earing for me. Its an easy 4k a month ... yipee!

(pause) .. checks the cooking chicken :
ohhhhh love the smell of my garlic fried chicken... cant wait to eat dinner. Come on clocky... move to 6 pm.
Yup we eat dinner at 6pm and have our snack by 8pm... if I am awake till 11pm I will still cook some Campbell Beef veggie soup and much t all up. Diet? Meeh? di na... walkathon na lang the next day on my new billabong shorty shorts! yiiiha!

I still have Ace water spa GC's here... I still need to fix my ever so hectic schedule. Hmmm who do I take with me aside from my kids.... I'd say.. MOM of course. She'll love the relaxing herbal pool. =) Cant wait to ak her out. we'll have a date. Be treating her to a great meal at Ace cafe after. Cool!

Rumbling tummy gotta go... swooosh!

"Our wonder pet " Leny

February 24, 2007 while in SM North Edsa , Sasha and I passed by Bioresearch to look at the animals being sold. Then she looked up me asking if she can have small pet since all her cousins have one ( dogs ).
Hay! the downside of living in a compound. Your kids will easily be pressured to have what they have. Though they dont usually want what others have .. this pet issue wont fade away.

I , myself love pets ( cats particularly). I grew up having cats at home as many as 2 dozen pet cats. I was 5 years old then when I first saw a stray cat along Antipolo street and took it home while Mom is out working as an architect in Makati.

So when I saw this cute "character like " guinea pig that sasha was showing me, I fell in love with it. To make the story short, we bought it.

Guinea Pigs ... some realizations:
1. Their hair is soft if they are still young
2. They are pretty active. I thought they are passive pets.
3. They have different kind of sounds tos how how they feel. Gurgling sound to show that he is content. Chattering sound means he might bite due to anger or fear. A chirp, similar to a chick sound means he wants company or food.
4. They can be bathe. Be sure to do so since they have flea infestation due to a bad hygiene ... be sure to change their beddings often to avoid re-infestation and foul smelling pet.

Sasha's Achievement

Today is a great day for my daughter Sasha who passed her swimming lessons ( little snapper category) at Bert Lozada Swim School Ace Water Spa. She was so happy with her achievement I can tell . At least now she has something to brag about and is starting to have her own collection of awards and achievements just like her brother.
She grew up seeing her brother Kyle collect tons of various awards every year ... she may not say it but I knew she also dreams of having her own lists of awards. Now at age 6, she had three already ( extra curricular and academics ) and I am glad that she now feels she's in equal foot with her brother.
Though no one really compares the two kids , she still wishes to have the same recognition.
I guess this is one of the downside of having smart, active kids. I just hope I as a mother can keep up with them. =)

Mcdo Fries snatcher ....

Mga bata nowadays tayo ang niloloko...

Minsan I woke up late... I decided to drive thru the nearest Mcdo to get some fries. When I got home I decided to cook lunch and placed my fries on the dining table.

When sasha woke up and went in the kitchen she saw the fries and took it. I told her its my breakfast so just take half of it. she obliged.

After a few minutes she went down again to get the whole fries box. I told her:
" Sasha dont take them all. I need carbo to keep me going or I'll faint."
Sasha: Mama share tayo diba?
Mama: Sasha you already got your share. What am I going to eat when you get all of the fries.

Kala ko maco-consciensya ... nanahimik kasi. Well, thats what I thought. I went back to my cooking. Yun pala naghahanap ng makakain ko.

She went back to me and handed me a cupcake : " ito oh! yan sayo yan ha.. eat mo. "

Hindi ko alam kung maiinis ako o matatawa... waahhhhhh yung fries ko! Oh well.
Of course natatawa ako. Grabe pag isa ka talagang parent!

Like mother , like daughter

Mom My mom has achieved the hardest kind of Love - unconditional love! She remains to be a role model in everything I do. Growing old and having kids made me realize how similar I am to her, the way i think, how i do things and also with my dreams.
People often commend how lucky my kids are for having a mom like me. I told them, my kids are luckier to have a grandmother like my mom who taught me everything I know.
Like mother , like daughter and I'm proud I am!!!!

To my mom, Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

My kids' past anecdote

This was first posted at my friendster blog last July 25, 2006. I am transferring some of my posts from there to this new spot I have...

Sona : funny!

We were eating dinner last night and I heard my two kids
arguing about something and I just listened:

Kyle ( 8 yrs old): Walang pasok kasi ang lakas ng ulan.

Sasha ( 5 yrs old ); deh! wrong ka kuya...

Kyle: oo nga... ask mama! Its raining hard sasha thats why we
dont have school.

Sasha: hinde! Sabi teacher ko, no classes today kasi President
nag-sauna! Ligo sya eh!

Hahahahahahahahaha! Nakakaloka talaga pag nagsama sama tong mga anak ko.
Nakakaaliw. Hay! That made my day even better....

Great day ahead everyone!

May 2007 Elections: Do you know who to vote for?

In seven days, one of the most controversy-filled elections in Philippine history is coming up. The Philippine elections of 2007 have been filled with some many side stories, confusion and and celebrities that often there’s a reason to puke…. Give up and ignore. Let the day pass. It’s doesn’t matter anyway. Either way, your votes won’t count

If you’ve ever had those thoughts (I know I did, once, twice) then I implore you - please don’t give up on our country. I know it seems hopeless at times and it feels like we are running in circles but we cannot really just give up , lets do this for the sake of our children's future.

I don’t have any political parties or candidates to recommend or push, but as real citizens of the Philippines, get to know your candidates. Find the best people who can serve us. No one is asking for a miracle, and none can truly make dramatic changes to our political scene, but there are candidates out there who are strong enough to make a positive change. If we vote all of the good ones into office, then there is HOPE.

Here is the link to the list and profiles of each senatorial candidate. The Philippine Election 2007 blog also provides commentaries for you to think through.

Tiendesitas "HOT"

It was my first time to go to Tiendestas yesterday. My family and I went there around 1pm. And Boy its hot! Such a wrong move. There are alot of things to see but you wont be comfortable walking around and staying for a long time. My kids are getting restless every minute especially my 3 year old son.
There are some promising stuff in the area but most of the items there are quite expensive... heck maybe I just know where to find the same stuff at a cheaper price. =P

Across Tiendesitas is a new place called The Barn. It is where Fun Ranch is located. ( I hope I didnt mixed up the two). The place has a great potential of becoming the next kid s haven. Its a one stop shop and leisure place for kids. There is even a doctors place and spa for kids. So after a check up, parents can treat their kids to a great arcade or appetizing food.

Parking Blues

Hay... its almost a year now since I learned How to drive... But I still dont have much guts and skills when it comes to parking in small spaces.. di ko talaga ma-shoot! But I wont stop I'll be trying still.. kahit na when the situation arises I lack the confidence to think right and follow my heart that I can do it.
Miss driving Toyota Corolla.... sob.... its more agile.

As a mother I am ...

I'm a Home maker whose primary duty is to take care of my kids. I looked different from other women. My hair isn't always done in the latest style, and sometimes, it isn't done at all.

I am a mother who can cook dinner while I tutor my kids, look out for my youngest and surf the net at the same time. Wishing to be a Shiva who has six hands to help me do more stuff at the same time.

I suffer from scoliosis but still manages to carry my kids from day one till they are three. I still do carry them until age 9 whenever we play horseback riding or piggy back ride.

I learned to drink milk often to keep the baby inside my tummy healthy. I learned to eat fresh tomato because my daughter loved eating it raw at the age of 6 months. I buy my favorite foods but I end up eating none, not even crumbs. I learned to be selfless and I am still learning until now.

I am the first in the kitchen and yet I am the last to take some food. I used to go malling and find myself good quality clothes but now when I go home from the mall I would realize that I havent gotten stuff for myself amongst the pile of shopping bags I carried.

I cannot be found in most pictures taken but ask me anything and I can give you every detail you need about a certain party.

I can never get sick. I am on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If ever I feel a flu is coming. I can psych myself and still stand up and prepare breakfast before everyone wakes up.

During vacation time when everyone in the house can sleep till noon, I on the otherhand should still wake up by 6am even if I had a hard time sleeping during the night and just had 2 hour sleep.

They say children doesnt come with manuals - but like a good technician I can figure out whats wrong with every kid. I am able to decipher their every needs anytime of the day.

I am someone who can repair the kitchen sink with only my hands -- after Daddy spent alot of time trying with tools and plenty of cuss words.

Being a mother is not an easy task but it can be truly rewarding you know. And I am sure when I die I can still face Him with a record of accomplishments even if I didnt pursue my dream of being a career woman. I hope He'll say I did a good job and be surrounded once more with cute baby angels floating between the soft fluffy clouds.

All about our HOngkong Trip Part 1

Middle week of november we were asked if we all have passports. All our passports are expired I said, and sasha and jace have none.
We are then tasked to process all our passports because the whole estuar clan is planning to have an out of the country vacation this year.
It'll be in Disneyland Japan, they added. Gasp! Japan in december? That will be really cold.
"Isn't that exciting? ", one sister in law replied.
"exciting yes.. but I should not forget my kid's health issues", I said.
You see all my 3 kids have asthma, and coming from a family with asthma, I know that a sudden climate change can trigger their asthma attacks. Now if that happens it'll not be an enjoyable vacation for me nor for them.

3rd week of November I had no choice but to process all our passports. With no enthusiasm I drove to DFA expecting the worst kind of treatment from its employees. But I was wrong. Processing was swell though alot of people were there. DFA personnels was surprisingly calm and respectful at the same time. 5 days later all our passports arrived to our doorsteps and we are ready to go!

Due to hectic schedules in December and health issues consideration... Japan vacation didn't push through. Family then realized traveling all together will be a drag too . A group of 20 people traveling together? for sure there will be friction along the way. So everyone decided to go by groups / by families instead.
First to travel was Kuya Jae's family. They went to Hongkong disneyland. They stayed in a kowloon side hotel and took tours to make their trip convenient. My family on the other hand didnt take a tour. We decided to reserve and plan everything on our own. So we can enjoy our travel on our own pace.

It took me 6 hours to canvass fares and fees via internet. I first checked how much will an airplane flight will cost us. Cathay Pacific costs an arm and a leg for 2 adults and 3 kids = P156K. I checked Cebu Pacific but their website was so slow. I didnt have the patience to wait all day just for their webiste to open up. =) One friend also told me to brush off the idea of taking their flights because Alfred might not enjoy the trip. Their seats are much smaller and so your movements can be restricted. Next webiste I visited is Philippine Airlines. I checked their fares and It was pretty good. It will cost us only P70K roundtrip, economy class and as an additional perk I can get to choose meals for my kids. Travel agencies dont usually tell you these right? The next day we booked our flight already. And that same day we called DisneyLand Hongkong to reserve our room. Hehehehe... a 5 minute reservation call costs alfred P 300 load.

March 24 to March 27
Garden View 3rd floor room 3741.

PR 319 arrival 1:40pm Seats 8a-8e

March 24, 2007
We left the house around 5:50am , we are in the airport by 6:05am and our papers are processed by 7:20am
Airport processing is pretty past and not chaotic. At 1st we imagined we'll get lost on the sea of people but the lines are very organized. In the baggage check in counter the personnel informed me that I still need to pay airline taxes, etc... I was shocked at first. I thought it was already included when I booked a flight. Pal website should have advised me this, and yes they should also advise online booking users that they still need to call the seat reservation department after to confirm their seats.
Going to the last step of going through an xray and go inside the boarding gates koreans are a little rude. They came in late almost missing their flight that they moved like a hurricane bumping everyone along their way . My kids were pushed. Good thing airport police are helpful , they helped my kids wear their shoes back. They are even a little flirty asking if they are really my kids.

Police: " Mam, you dont look like you have three kids"
Me: " Thats what they always say... thanks though , I dunno if its good or bad "
Police: Sino po yung asawa nyo? yung balbas-sarado?"
Me: " Yah..." ( wondering why they figured it out )
Police:" mukhang artistahin ha "
Me: " pinsan sya ni Monsour " ( eepps may sense bang sabihin ko yun)
Police: " ahh kaya pala mukhang karatista"

Ngek!!! ang laki ng tyan , karatista? I just kept quiet ... dont want to argue, this is not my territory hehehehe.

While we wait to board my kids had fun watching the planes land and go. Kyle got bored and decided to lay down the benches. Jason on the other hand keeps on moving arounf the area. Having fun with his matchbox car and imagining its a plane that is ready to go. Sasha felt sleepy and slept for 2 hours. Alfred ate a few sandwiches and I on the otherhand didnt feel any boredom. I just texted friends while I wait. Honestly it only feels 30 minutes waiting time.. though in reality its 3 hours. Excitement? maybe... but I guess its more the idea that I can finally relax and loving it.
Airport departure area is quite clean. Their comfort room needs renovation though. Flushes have a stint of rusts.. Not a great sight to see. Food are quite expensive.. chuckie costs P50 each.
Since we have kids and 1 under 5 years old. we are allowed to bring water jugs, milk bottle. Chips are ok for all ages. My batteries are not confiscated either. But to be sure didnt load my rechargeable batteries just used ordinary disposable batts.

Hongkong airport arrival:

Owwww! whats that stench! amoy basang natuyo! Kids and I kept on sneezing though we already took our allergy pill before we fly. Its quite foggy outside. Temp. is 24 degrees. The wind is cold but I dunno maybe because if the 93% humidity your body still feels hot inside.
Comfort room culture: dont wait in front of door of your desired toilet. Wait at the very start of the aisle because they follow the 1st come 1st serve rule.

Its time to line up at the immigration window... creepy.. the man looked at me and again I was told that I dont look like I have three kids. "suspicious" he added. I really thought I will be kicked back to Manila. Especially when one immigration officer called another officer and talked in their chinese language. Gulp!

We passed by watsons and 7 eleven first before we head off to Disney Hotel. I bought lighter for alfred, cotton pads, no astringent, baby wipes and some candies to pacify our kids.
Alfred remembered to buy octopus cards.
We decided to take a taxi to make it convenient. Took a blue taxi and told the driver to drove us to Hollywood disney hotel. He was speedy. We are travelling around 110KPH. We are in the hotel after 15 minutes. Realization: drivers are seated at the right side not the left side. Taxi cab costs us 107HKD no additional for the baggages... i dunno why.

Hollywood Hotel:
We arrived at the hollywood hotel around 1:50pm
There are lotsa Filipino's around in the lobby. All waiting to check out that time. Their lobby was kid friendly. There's a large television and mini sofa sets for kids to wait while mommy and daddy checks in or out . Processing is quite peaceful but tedious. It took us sometime maybe because of the language barrier . Both sides wanted to be sure that all details are correct so they keep on repeating every detail.
The room was cozy.. 2 big double beds are waiting for us.. well lit room, mini bar with coffee maker mini ref and a safety deposit box. Big TV , big window great bathtub, with a " fit for a star " mirror, hair dryer ( love this hehehe ) and lotsa mini mickey bottles for bubble bath, shampoo and conditioner. They add a new bottle everyday. They have complimentary slippers too and toothbrush for everyone. Sewing kit is a plus ... other 5 star hotel dont even offer this.

Surprise Gift!

Last April 29 I was summon by some "online friends " in SM North edsa. They prepared a surprise gift for me they said. Like a kid I was so excited and cant wait for the said date.
Upon arriving at IceBergs and seeing lotsa friends ( most of them was seen for the 1st time ) I was overwhelmed. Cant say much to them... just Hi's and beso beso ( kisses on the cheeks).
We talked and ate ice cream. Yum! I was event asked to forget about the calories as if I am counting them. Im not a diet freak. But most people think I am because of my slim figure. I am just lucky to have a fast metabolism I think... but upon reaching 30 years old I noticed that it gotten somehow slower than before. I am starting to get unwanted cellulites in the inner thigh. Gasp!

After all the food and chats... they handed me a guess paperbag.. hmmm i thought I 'll have a blouse for a gift. But it was heavy.
H O L Y !!!!! it wasnt even part of my expectation.... It was a New Canon A570is camera! This is one of the best gifts I got from my friends on my birthday. It was special because this is a gift from my "online friends"... friends that was developed only by chatting online and yet grow into a true lovely friendship as time pass by. Most of them was seen for the first time and yet look how they care and love me... this is no joke... this camera is quite expensive. I am really touched and shy.. and wondering is this a joke?
But no, its all real... as real as their friendship.. Thanks again to all of you... mwah!

Love it girls! Now I really need to have a dedicated hard disk for my pictures. Tons of pictures to be taken from my new 7.1 megapixel camera yipee!!!!!!

Swimming lessons at ACE water spa

This summer vacation to keep kids occupied we enrolled them to a swimming lessons at Ace Water Spa. Beginners lessons ( little snapper and swimming jammer) costs 4K each.
The venue was impressively clean. They let you borrow swimming caps so you dont have to buy. There are separate lockers for boys and girls but your male kids can join you of course if they cannot handle themselves yet.

The Bert Lozada instructors are great. They are compassionate , gentle and yet persistent. They are friendly especially to small kids.

Parents are not allowed to stay around the pool area to limit distractions. They can however stay at the waiting area wherein you can view your kids swim in a big glassed window.

Lessons last for an hour but maybe I also absorb their tension that is why I also get so hungry ( like them) whenever we go home. I treat them to jollibee for their effort and courage and they love it.

On the first day.. my daughter cried like crazy not wanting to swim face down. Heck not wanting to do the basic blow under water exercise. The 2nd day I made her bring her goggles. But she still cried. Soon we found out that she thought once she went underwater she will not be allowed to go up. Not unless the instructor say so. ( funny! ) So we told her that she can always lift her head up if she feels she's already out of breath. Now she is doing great!

Kyle: my eldest on the other hand is handling his fear pretty well. Swimming is a great exercise for him since he has asthma. This is one reason why we encouraged him to really learn how to swim.

Jace: I advise parents out there to start their kids young in such lessons. This way they still dont have big fears in water. My youngest had fun on his 1st and 2nd day. He prefers practicing in the warm pool though. But on the third day he got a little scared and cried when he was taught to swim with styropore floaters at his back. My husband told me this will really strengthen his ability to use his arms and legs in learning how to swim. Its pretty hard though it looks easy from the spectators point of view.
I agree.. because he prefers using arm floaters . He enjoys swimming using this device better.

And oh! I was surprised by a complimentary GC's from Ace spa yesterday. My 3 kids got P500 worth of GC's each. They all got excited. I told them we'll use it after their swimming lessons. Yipee! we'll get to try their herbal pool and of course the variety of water massaging pool.

HAPPY Birthday Indeed

This photo is one of the hundreds of pictures taken last April 21, 2007 during Our ( me, jace and sasha ) triple birthday celebration.

Its a perfect time to go swimming... the water was warm, the company was great and the view was awesome especially at sunset.

Some of my relatives and friends werent able to come but nevertheless the day was made special by my family and my close friend Ley.

Yaya Holiday

My 3 yr old son's yaya had a vacation. Left last April 28. I looked okay but inside i was panicking. Handling 3 kids with a mind of their own is hard work. Good thing Jace is far more well behave than most kids his age. He listens and obeys even for a few minutes.
I was surprised that my daughter Sasha took charge of taking care of him when I am busy. She really bloomed to a real loving ate this past week. Im so happy to see them together playing around , sleep together. There are times that Jace would push me away and would prefer Sasha to slip on his shoes, wipe his mouth , dress him up. I never imagined this even on my dreams. You see Sasha and Jace often fight because jace would get his ate's toy, ruin her drawings etc.. Sasha on the other hand requests her own privacy now that she is 6 years old. They really have different styles and likes thats why they often clash when one of them decided to enter each others imaginary boundary line. =)
But this past week was different. they somehow learned to respect each other more, cooperate and finally enjoy each other's company.
