Swimming lessons at ACE water spa

This summer vacation to keep kids occupied we enrolled them to a swimming lessons at Ace Water Spa. Beginners lessons ( little snapper and swimming jammer) costs 4K each.
The venue was impressively clean. They let you borrow swimming caps so you dont have to buy. There are separate lockers for boys and girls but your male kids can join you of course if they cannot handle themselves yet.

The Bert Lozada instructors are great. They are compassionate , gentle and yet persistent. They are friendly especially to small kids.

Parents are not allowed to stay around the pool area to limit distractions. They can however stay at the waiting area wherein you can view your kids swim in a big glassed window.

Lessons last for an hour but maybe I also absorb their tension that is why I also get so hungry ( like them) whenever we go home. I treat them to jollibee for their effort and courage and they love it.

On the first day.. my daughter cried like crazy not wanting to swim face down. Heck not wanting to do the basic blow under water exercise. The 2nd day I made her bring her goggles. But she still cried. Soon we found out that she thought once she went underwater she will not be allowed to go up. Not unless the instructor say so. ( funny! ) So we told her that she can always lift her head up if she feels she's already out of breath. Now she is doing great!

Kyle: my eldest on the other hand is handling his fear pretty well. Swimming is a great exercise for him since he has asthma. This is one reason why we encouraged him to really learn how to swim.

Jace: I advise parents out there to start their kids young in such lessons. This way they still dont have big fears in water. My youngest had fun on his 1st and 2nd day. He prefers practicing in the warm pool though. But on the third day he got a little scared and cried when he was taught to swim with styropore floaters at his back. My husband told me this will really strengthen his ability to use his arms and legs in learning how to swim. Its pretty hard though it looks easy from the spectators point of view.
I agree.. because he prefers using arm floaters . He enjoys swimming using this device better.

And oh! I was surprised by a complimentary GC's from Ace spa yesterday. My 3 kids got P500 worth of GC's each. They all got excited. I told them we'll use it after their swimming lessons. Yipee! we'll get to try their herbal pool and of course the variety of water massaging pool.
