Whispering sweet Nothings to kids

In my past post "Daddy's Girl" , I said there that my dad would always whisper sweet things to me as he sits beside me as I sleep ( he thought i was ).

My mom would do that too.. I would wake up at times and noticing my mom talking to me as I sleep. Well she thought too I am asleep. I remember her saying sweets thoughts that she loves me, some are part of her dreams for us, words of thankfulness and even apologies if she gets mad at me over petty little things.

All those sweet whispers lingered not only in my mind but in my heart - until now. I can still remember the night my mom said she hopes that I would still be there for her when I grew up. That I could still take time to spend some moments with her.
That is the reason why I still take time to take her out and spend some great time with her even though I have my own family now.

Wow the power of sweet whispers... they say it innocently as their child sleeps but the message do get embedded deep within.

Now that I am a mom... I do that too to my kids. I whisper thoughts to them as they sleep. Things that I am sometimes scared or shy to tell them when they are awake. I often say that I love them ( well i do that even when they are awake ) and I say sorry if I got mad. I explain to them things.. stuff and even share my dreams.
I am hoping that they can somehow hear that like me they can still remember those words even when they are already old.

Daddy's girl

read Dee's blog.. her kids excitedly waits for december to come not because its xmas season but because it's the month Daddy will come home.

It made me reminisce how my life was when I was young. I grew up seeing my Dad come and go. I didnt ask questions before thinking thats how life was. There are times that he would come home and I would fear him.. ( i think i was 3 then but its still very vivid in my mind ). He came home one day with tons of bags with him. Lotsa goodies too. But I was just sitting on the sofa feeling so scared that a stranger just entered our home. He's not familiar.. But mom said he's my father and worst... mom was urging me to come near him and kiss him.
After a week or so , he is off to go to another another place.

Then when I turned prep , thats when I realize ohhh thats my dad. He is abroad working as an architect inside the US bases in Japan ( that time ). He calls us up every week just to say Hi... i wont talk to him personally but in the background I would always cry and say Uwi na.. uwi na si Daddy ( shocks I still get teary eyed remembering all those ). My mom would ask me what I like just to make me stop crying but I insisted.. "wala ako gusto.. uwi na... uwi na and I say that line over and over again as i cry. Gosh sorry mom , now I realized that must have broke your heart further. =(

I was in Grade 2 when Dad sent us a Hello kitty family calendar ( NOV yun ). That calendar was so cute... Its a big house with lotsa window.. color blue with gold stars, chimney etc.
The whole Hello kitty family is there. Each window shows the months of the year and in each window you open Dad already wrote important dates like birthdays and anniversaries. And I was glad to see a big note that says : " Daddy will be home!" on the 23rd of February.
I would always look at that calendar until it hits february. Thats how excited I am - to see him back home. But unfortunately... Dad usually stays only a week ... the longest is 2 weeks. And everytime its time for him to go back to work ... the night before as he thought I was sleeping... he would whisper sweet stuff as he sits beside me. He would always remind me that he loves us so so much. That he will miss us when he goes back to Japan. But dont fret for he'll always think of us and buy us good stuff. He always tells me to be a good girl and a good student.. to help mom in every way we could.
All those whispers were outhered ..as he thought I was asleep but I was just pretending. We bonded all night just being close to each other ... He sat there all night until its time for him to pack and go.
It hurts that when I come back from school.. my dad for 2 weeks is gone. And it will take another 2or 3 years before I see him again.
Good thing when I reached 7 yrs old, Dad decided to take us with him to his next destination... Korea. So we could be together for a longer time. Hmm maybe thats the reason why Korea is one of the memorable places I visited. I enjoyed it there... living there, playing with other koreans eventhough they dont speak in english. I studied there too ( seoul academy school ) and had lotsa friends. But all of it wouldnt be as fun .. if we were not together as a FAMILY!

Nineteen things to say to children

1. I love you.. There is nothing that will stop me from loving you. Nothing you could do or say or think will ever change that.

2. You are amazing! I look at you with wonder! Not just at what you can do, but who you are. There is no one like you. No one!

3. It's alright to cry. People cry for all kinds of reasons: when they are hurt, sad, glad or worried, when they are angry, afraid or lonely. Big people cry to. I do.

4. You've made a mistake. That was wrong. People make mistakes, I do. Is it something that we can fix? What can we do? It's all over . You can start fresh. I know you are sorry . I forgive you.

5. You did the right thing. Was that scary or hard? Even though it wasnt easy , you did it! I am proud of you. You should be too.

6. Im sorry, Forgive me. I made a mistake.

7. You can change your mind. It's good to decide but it is also fine to change.

8. What a great idea! You were really thinking. How did you come up with that? Tell me more. You're mind is clever.

9. That was kind. You did something helpful and thoughtful for that person. That must make you feel good inside. Thank you!

10. I have a surprise for you. It's not your birthday. It's for no reason at all. Just a surprise, a little one but a surprise.

11. I can wait. We have time. You dont have to huryy this time.

12. What would you like to do? Its your turn to pick. You have great ideas. Its important to follow your special interest.

13. Tell me about it. I'd like to hear more. And then what happened? I'll listen.

14. Im right here. I wont leave without saying goodbye. I am watching you. I am listening to you.

15. Please and Thank you. There are important words. If I forget to use them, will you remind me?

16. I missed you. I think about you when we are not together.

17. Just try. A little bit. One taste. One step. You might like it. Let's see. I'll help you if you need it. I think you can do it.

18. I'll help you. I heard you call me. Here I am. How can I help you? If we both work together we can get this done. I know you can do it by yourself, but I am glad to help since you asked.

19. What do you wish for? Even if it's not yet time for birthday candles and we dont have a wishbone, its still fun to hear what you wish for, hope for and dream about.

* This article is a great way to stop for awhile and think if we as parents are still on the right track. If we are still being great parents to our kinds. It's ok to check from time to time and make necessary adjustments so that we can mold our children to the right path the best we could =)

USB Kitty - Its finally free and flying!Aug 15, '07 10:51 PM

After I guess a month or so after purchasing this kitty. Its finally out of the box and continously pestering me with her "ting" sound and fluttering wings. Hahaha... annoying ? Kinda but its cute... ey any kitty lover will have a spare patience for sure for this cutie!
Love the color changing lights on her wand... sound of her fluttering wings...and the Ting sound? reminds me of the bell that is situated in every hotel counter in town. Press it and your friendly customer service assistant will come to your aid.

USB Angel Kitty : officially spreaded her wings Aug 15, 2007 9:29pm

I hate inconsiderate - senseless acts.

Hay... just now. Someone from below ( we live in a compound by the way ) baygon bomb all insects - sheeshhh... I think she wants to include humans too.

Sheesshhh because it was over kill - it could even kill us. The scent was so strong I could smell it here on the 2nd floor. Now I hear someone coughing hard on the other unit... thats how strong it was. I felt - my mechado was even ruined - poisoned. Ang tapang talaga....
My throat tingled - in pain. My head spinned a little... I was not kidding. I was literally poisoned by a spray before so I know when its too much. When headache , throat tingling, vomiting, hearing got lost/impaired , difficulty breathing - thats a sign.. get out breathe fresh air. Now I have at least 2 of the warning signs....

Hay .... funny thing about it is - they are spraying shit downstairs ( sorry for the word ) fearing all bugs and I'm sure dengue carrying mosquitos and yet they still left the fountain rain water full... checked it 2 days after the past storm ( ang tagal na diba ) kiti - kiti was already breading there... eh its been a week. Malamang mosquito na silang lahat.

Bat di ko sabihin- Hahahaha... i do. Sa dami na nga I look like a horrible , freaking arte girl na nga for pointing ( NICELY ) all that needs to be taken cared off (alot of times). But sorry for me they dont listen to innocent looking girls. What do I know right? Im just a stay at home mom. Ha-huh!

Hummmmm.... breathe in Breathe out. I am here now in my bedroom. Opened the air filter I recently got. Close shut the door and windows... opened the aircon instead. Will try to relax though I am close to feeling like a volcano.

Damn... di man lang naisip my kids just felt well after having a terrible asthma attack last week. They were absent for a long time because of that. Buti na lang talaga wala pa sila due to floods caused by heavy rains. Blessing in disguise.

Husband and Wife is destined to be together...

This is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese Legend...

Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
& the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip
(As shown in the figure below):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.
Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)... ., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... ., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!!

Please try this out......... ....

ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

Foreman for a minute or two...

Last Saturday, I asked my mom to accompany me to go to Robinson's Place in Manila. I am not familiar with the area anymore ( as usual) been spoiled by hubby who always drive me to and fro places I wish to go. So I usually sit back and yes relax and listen to music... hurt his eardrums as I sing... hahahaha.
Anyway... now this time.. its my turn. Hmmm 1st time ko to puntahan. 1 Year pa lang kasi ako nag da drive.
Near Robinsons place... I saw a sign... "Basement Parking ---->" I turned right. And went extreme left ( thinking its like Megamall when you're headed to its parking. ) But I was wrong... Its a taxi lane ( sige tawa... bonk! ) So I immediately went back to left lane - The van behind me was irritated para kasi akong sawa! you know what I mean. I moved slowly... planning my next move. The van behind me is getting irritated already... I said to myself : "naku wag kang magugulo, nakita na ngang naliligaw e " hahahah

at the corner I turned right.. then I saw another sign. "Basement parking <------" so I turned left and Voila! I saw an opening. Magulo.. may construction. I dunno where to go next so I just followed the Fiera type jeep in front of me. I saw the guard wave at me at the entrance waiting for him to hand me a card - ah wala pa baka sa taas.

We moved up... and up.. it was steep! Creepy Dark Parking! 1st floor says "Tops Off area"
Hmmm.. Ah baka Restaurant Parking.. Reserved!
2nd floor ganun din...
3rd floor ahh wala sarado may harang ..
4th -Tadah! Finally.
errrr teka bat walang mirrors ang windows? Bad dami construction boy? Bakit walang daan sa Robinsons.

Thats when it hit me... Dang! Di naman to parking ng Robinsons ha!?? Stella!!! Ok ka lang you're in fourth floor... we are suppose to go to BASEMENT parking nga! Hahahaha

Me and my mom were scaredly laughing at ourselves. Sige deadma Hanapin ang pababa. Kunwari we own the place... wag pahalatang mapapahiya.
Ayan... they are looking at us na .. Sa bagay anak when I visit a site ganyan din naman.. puro lalaki ako lang babae - Mom kasi is an architect and yes I will proudly announce that she partly designed CCP!

The Fiera in front of us stopped na... wahhh san ang pababa.. sus ginagawa pa. San na .. Oh well...
Maya maya pa ayan na ang guard... hingal na hingal in his 60's by the way.
Miss miss san po ba kayo? He said
I smiled and cheerfully said: " Manong! Mali po ako sorry ... san po ba ang pababa at sa Robinsons kami e ."
"Pasensiya na ha.. di ko kabisado."

Di Ko naisip , pero si mommy sabi niya.. hala 4th floor tinakbo niya para lang abutan tayo hahahahha... Oh my gosh!
"Hitch mo na , Hitch mo na " my mom requested me. Naawa si mommy as in.. ako Im busy panicking sa totoo lang di lang nila nakikita hahahhaa.

So the guard went in and warned me: "ahh miss busina ka pababa ha kasi may makakasalubong ka ".

I opened my lights .. beeped a few times. Cant do it continuously kasi nga ikot ikot manibela.

1 more floor to go and aaak!

Ahh thankfully madali naman for the fork lift mag reverse... at may instant guard guide ako mag-maniubra papunta sa isang butas tungo sa BASEMENT parking.

Salamat manong Bless you po!
